CALL FOR PAPERS

We’re excited to invite members of BPFNA~Bautistas por la Paz and outside readers to contribute stories for peace and justice. For years, our stories have connected our membership across borders and kept readers engaged with different settings, projects, and struggles for peace, human rights, and the expansion of the Kingdom of God throughout the world. The Baptist Peacemaker has featured personal stories, heartfelt interviews, political pieces, book reviews and academic articles that challenge our audience to keep the work for peace and justice alive.

We accept content of varied media in four different categories, outlined below. Please fill out the form below to submit your content.

WE WELCOME SUBMISSIONS IN ENGLISH AND/OR SPANISH.

  • The Baptist Peacemaker welcomes contributions from scholars and non-scholars who wish to publish a short story or non-academic article. The BP focuses on the work of peace and justice, encouraging writers to engage with communities and personal stories that can account for the ways that people are building peace and fighting for justice around the world.

    We welcome short articles, poetry, and artwork that deal with topics related to politics, justice, human rights, gender equality, feminism, peace, the gospel, Christian communities, and church leadership. Short stories should be within 1,000–1,500 words and include references. Please follow the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition.     Submissions will be evaluated by the editorial committee on length, quality of material, relevance, and engagement with the aforementioned topics. Submissions should include a PDF copy of the article and a short bio. If accepted, Baptist Peacemaker will require a picture for publication. Authors will be notified if and when articles will be published and asked for edits no less than one month before publication. Final copies are due 2 weeks before final publications. We welcome submissions in English or Spanish.

  • The Baptist Peacemaker welcomes contributions from academic scholars and graduate students who wish to publish short academic articles. The BP focuses on the search for peace and justice. We encourage writers to engage with communities and personal stories that can account for the ways that people are building peace around the world and fighting for justice.

    We welcome short academic articles that deal with topics related to politics, justice, human rights, gender equality, feminism, peace, the gospel, Biblical studies, practical and contextual theology, Christian communities, current theological academic trends, and church leadership. Articles should be within 3,000–4,500 words and include references. Academic articles must include a 50–100 word abstract with 4-7 keywords. Please follow the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition.     Submissions will be evaluated by the editorial committee and an outside scholar on length, quality of material, relevance, academic contribution, and engagement with the aforementioned topics. Evaluations will be anonymous. Submissions should include a PDF copy of the article and a short bio. If accepted, we will require a picture for publication. Authors will be notified if and when articles will be published and asked for edits no less six weeks before publication. Final copies are due 3 weeks before final publications. We welcome submissions in English or Spanish.

  • The Baptist Peacemaker invites people to submit book reviews. The BP focuses on the search for peace and justice. We encourage writers to engage with communities and personal stories that can account for the ways that people are building peace around the world and fighting for justice.

    We welcome submissions of current book reviews dealing with topics related to politics, justice, human rights, gender equality, feminism, peace, the gospel, Christian communities, and church leadership. Book Reviews should be within 700– 1,200 words. Please follow the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition. Submit your review by clicking the button below and filling out the form.

    Submissions will be evaluated by the editorial committee on length, quality of material, date and relevance of the book, and relation to the aforementioned topics. Submissions should include a PDF copy of the article and a short bio. If accepted, Baptist Peacemaker will require a picture for publication. Books for review must be less than 2 years old. Authors will be notified if and when articles will be published and asked for edits no less than one month before publication. Final copies are due 2 weeks before final publications. We welcome submissions for book reviews in English or Spanish.

  • The Baptist Peacemaker welcomes contributions from people that wish to provide material for children between the ages of 5–12. The BP focuses on the search for peace and justice. We encourage writers to engage with communities and personal stories that can account for the ways that people are building peace around the world and fighting for justice, then translate such experiences to children.

    We welcome short stories, artwork, games, and other creative submissions that deal with topics related to politics, justice, human rights, gender equality, feminism, peace, the gospel, Christian communities, and church leadership. Short story submissions should be within 500–1,000 words. Pictures are encouraged, but not necessary. Submit your children & youth content by clicking the button below and filling out the form.

    Submissions will be evaluated by the editorial committee on length, quality of material, relevance, and creativity. Submissions should include a PDF copy of the article and a short bio. If accepted, BP will require a picture for publication. Authors will be notified if and when submissions will be published and asked for edits no less than one month before publication. Final copies are due 2 weeks before final publications. We welcome submissions in English or Spanish.
